Cancellation Terms

Cancellations made at any time prior to your cake order date will not be refunded. Instead, you will receive store credit for the full amount, valid for 90 days from the cancellation date.

Creativity & Copying

At Baked Sugar, we thrive on creativity and originality.
Please do not ask us to replicate cakes made by other Cape Town bakers. We respect their artistry and suggest reaching out to them directly if you’d like the exact design.

Turnaround Time

We aim to respond within 12–24 hours during the following times:

  • Weekdays: 9 AM – 6 PM
  • Weekends: 9 AM – 12:30 PM

Limited Availability

We bake a limited number of cakes each week. To avoid disappointment:

  • Place your enquiry at least 10 days in advance.
  • Ensure payment is made 7 days before your desired collection date.

Collection & Transportation Disclaimer

Timing:

  • Please collect your cake on time. Notify us if you’ll be early or late.

Transport Tips:

  1. Transport the cake on a level surface or have an adult hold it securely.
  2. Avoid direct sunlight, and use air conditioning to keep the cake cool.
  3. Drive carefully, avoiding speed bumps and sudden braking.

Storage Tips:

  • If collecting a day early, store the cake in a clean fridge (avoid strong odors like garlic or onion).
  • Cakes can remain at room temperature for 3–4 hours on warm days.

Showcasing:

  • Place the cake on a stable, level table.
  • Minimize moving the cake to avoid affecting its structure or decorations.

Liability:
Once the cake leaves our premises, we are not responsible for damages after 1 hour, provided correct transport methods are followed. Repairs can be made for an additional charge.
